She has managed and delivered the Federal Funded Adult Migrant English Programs to newly arrived migrants and refugees in Wollongong and Sydney. Thit retired in December 2008 and became a volunteer promoting and advocating for the disadvantage groups within the Multicultural community.

She has a strong interest in promoting cultural and religious harmony within the Illawarra community. Consequently, she founded I-WIN Illawarra Women Interfaith Network in 2010, promoting harmony, friendship, respect and understanding between various faiths groups through ‘Interfaith Dialogue’.

Thit is also a strong advocator for equity and access to services for cancer survivors from multicultural and Muslim communities. After her cancer treatment in 2013, she founded “Sisters’ Cancer Support Group Inc.” SCSG supports women from culturally diverse backgrounds and Muslim communities who have been diagnosed with cancer, or are supporting relatives and friends in their cancer journey.

SCSG was launched on 22nd October 2014 as an Illawarra-based not-for-profit community organization which is now a registered, not-for-profit charity organisation in NSW that covers:-

Thit now dedicates her time in promoting harmony through Interfaith Dialogues and coordinating/facilitating the activities of Sisters’ Cancer Support Group.
